Kim gladly accepts her presents!

at this point, i'm assuming a fair number of people questioned whether anna and kim's friendship is a bit one sided . . . and I am here to let you know that this love is mutually a bit much.

the gift giving had been built up to a point that i was truly nervous. just how crafty is this small blonde friend of mine? how would mine compare? what if i let her down?

i arrived early at the coffeeshop and had downed a large latte before she got there (hence at least some of the sweating problem). not being able to take it any longer, I made her open her gift first. she loved the apron(s) and the bff necklaces – putting both on immediately. success! now it was my turn. when i first opened the box i had no idea what i was looking at (yes, that look was genuine confusion). It appeared to just be white fabric of some sort, then -- BAM! – the blessing we all now know as touching cotton was born.

i feel i should confirm/clarify/highlight:
1) yup, we are actually are this in to each other – I feel confident this blog will prove this to you
2) our awkward sweating problem does not just occur when opening gifts
3) there may or may not be a miniature pig involved in touching cotton (stay tuned)

on my crafting to do list: necklaces that are borderline rip-offs of anthropolgie jewlery (i'm not going to lie and let you think i'm above this, blog reader).

don’t think I forgot the much needed thank you: i want to thank anna for the BEST christmas present ever -- including a blog that documents our oddly charming little friendship -- big thumbs up, munchkin.

much more to come,
kim

presentation of the gifts!!

kim and i met up monday evening at Urban Dog Coffee to exchange gifts.  we were both pretty excited, and by excited i mean sweating profusely, fidgeting uncomfortably, and spradically grinning at each other with a look of mixed fear, mystery, and impatience.

kim had me open my gift first. inside the box were three individually wrapped gifts - to be opened in a specific order. the first gift i opened was a child's size apron, made by kim. because i am so tiny that you must make things VERY small for me. amazing handy work by kim! the next gift i opened was an (almost) adult sized MATCHING apron! the third gift was  AMAZING! best friends necklaces! i got half a heart & a key, kim got half a heart and a lock. BFF4E!

so, for the moment i waited so long for...and the moment you didn't even know you were waiting for yet, a video offering:

kim & i are ready to get yon blog a cooking, so check back as we embark on our craft adventures!

anna loves you,

the making of the gifts

PROGRESS!

with the logo finished and the blog prematurely launched, the next thing to do was create the tangible gifts for my dearest kim.

the plan: a tote bag.
(then i can follow up with gifts of any and everything i can find to stick our logo on.)

my friend jeff was kind enough to lend his professional screen printing equipment & expertise - as long as i did the work.  in the spirit of the blog, i documented the process!

here is less than one minute of your life you'll never get back, but i just don't think you'll regret....

coming soon: the presentation of the gifts & a very special message from kim.

xoxo,
